we are the culture.
We make culture. Define it. Create it. Identify it. Elevate it. We breathe it.
At Sanaa* Collective, we show up in all our Black woman glory in the halls of culture that call us; theaters, art galleries, opera houses, dance recitals, symphonies, museums and anywhere else we choose.
*Sanaa means art in swahili
A night at the theater
Written by 2-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage, Crumbs from the Table of Joy, follows the journey of 17-year-old Ernestine Crump after the loss of her mother. She is a Black girl in 1950s Brooklyn who grapples with the huge changes in her world while dealing with neighbors that aren’t too keen on her family moving in and a country that is changing every day.
Join us before the show to imbibe and learn about the show from a special guest. After the show we will digest and discuss what we experienced at a local restaurant where more food and drinks will be available for purchase.
This night of quality theater, rich discussion and sweet connections will not be the same without you!
